From The Mouths Of Babes…

I had a rather hysterical experience (IMHO) this Thursday!!!   I share an office suite with two other women who I have really come to love and value as friends..  In any event, this Thursday, one of them brought her 9 year old son in with her.  It was the first time I was meeting Lucas-With-The Lid-Off ( as I call him… )

Within no time, it became obvious to me that Lucas is actually super-bright -as in, REALLY bright…  I made some off the cuff remark about something I can’t even recall,  but Lucas explained, in serious tones, from some Animal Planet show he had watched, the background of the ‘cliche’.I had used…  I think that was the first point that his Mom and I met each other’s eyes in something resembling fear or shock…

Let me tell you, my friend Issi is going to have her little hands full with Lucas-With-The-Lid-Off, because he is seriously ADVANCED, okay…

Anyways, Issi and I each had classes to teach at the office that morning, so when we were done, we all returned to our office to find our other ‘team-mate’ Kati crying her eyes out!!!  Being typical women, we rushed to her asking, “What’s wrong?”

Kati’s parents have recently moved to another state, and coming from a close-knit family, all the girls who are still here in Florida have been finding the separation difficult.  Kati explained that she’d just read an email from her Mom and she just  felt to cry…

Issi and I said, in unision, “Aww, Kati”….  reaching out to give sisterly support!!!

Lucas-With-The-Lid-Off  sighed and said… “You girls have so much drama…” and he rolled his eyes in disgust!!!

Can I tell you – us girls – we all – unanimously- burst into deep, from the belly-laughter!!!

You know – Mars:Venus – whatever!!!  Out of the mouths of babes, our differences are blaringly evident!!!!  Lucas - I love ya, kid – you’re soooo cool!!!

Believe me – I told you that about MB Jr. long time – I don’t know if its really the TV they watch nowadays or what, but kids today come out with things that are FRIGHTENINGLY advanced, IMHO!!!

I remember last year when y’all were here visiting and MB Jr. was giving Midas his “due”. He told him to beware, because he (MB Jr.) was Santa’s Evil Twin, and its curtains for you (Midas)… so I hope you have windows…

We all laughed but on the way out of that restaurant, I recall asking where on earth he got this stuff from and you said “TV… I hope” :)

Do you think we freaked our parents out with the things we came out with???
