Weekend Workdays and Other Random Thoughts…

Well, its Friday night – 11:30pm, and I am preparing for a full weekend of work!  I love what I do, and thank God, am being blessed with lots of business.  Many may read news from South Florida about a troubled Real Estate market, but I am busy – so I am very thankful, because many are not seeing the business increase that I have been.

 You know, like any Sales Career, Real Estate takes alot of hard work, and it can get overwhelming at times when it comes in droves – but the truth is – I LOVE the rush – I LOVE the chaos of being so busy I don’t know my head  from my toe…

I get crazy about the hours sometimes, when I’m tired – but I truly LOVE working with people and having the opportunity to interact and share in their lives!  If I could have everything go exactly the way I want in life forever – my Real Estate career would definitely be a huge aspect of that!!!  So that’s saying alot – its taken me YEARS to find this career I’m so passionate about!

You know, I really attribute my success to a few major things:

1.  God!       I was at a low-point in my career when a friend suggested I turn to God.  I know I’ve shared some of this before and many of you have read it, so I won’t go into it all over again – but I have to honestly say that  my re-connection and re-commitment to God and my dedication to try despite my frequent failures to follow Him has led me to a path of blessing and abundance - I believe this 100% because the timing proves it unquestionably…

2.  Giving back!    Once I decided to focus not only on my own little world and panic about my own little business, I determined to become a part of my office – to join hands in training, development, helping each other, supporting each other – I truly believe that this has a direct relation to fostering in me a mindset and an attitude that’s helping me to grow and develop, strive and THRIVE!!!  By coming out of my cave and teaming up with the ‘world’ – I am GROWING!!!

3.  Participating!    I mentioned before my membership in a Networking Organizaion called BNI – Business Networking International…  Check www.bni.com, www.bnibroward.com and my own chapter,  www.elitebni.com.  I’ve been a member for almost two years now!  When I first joined it was such a struggle for me… we meet weekly at 7am on a Wednesday morning – I am NOT a morning person!!!

I would find myself each Tuesday night in a horrible mood, as I anticipated the need to wake up so early the next day…  I am also really shy, so I found the very concept of networking extremely challenging…

But, through the support of my sister-in-law, who introduced me to the group, and some of the great friends I made there, I persevered – and then got involved.  I have to tell you – once I got involved – participated in leadership positions, became an active participant – I grew so much as a person – and really, as a side-benefit, my business keeps growing amazingly.  Right now, BNI accounts for a good 70-80% of my new business!!!!  

I think its pretty incredible when you look at what genuine caring and consideration and giving freely of oneself can do to improve one’s life on so many levels – because I don’t do the things I do looking for what I’m going to get out of it – I do it, because I’ve bought into caring – the return actually amazes and surprises me every single time!!!

So, if there’s one thing I can contribute today to anyone out there struggling with life – Give and give freely of yourself – it WILL help you personally to grow and develop in ways you cannot imagine – and it WILL come back to you in leaps and bounds, in different ways!!!   

Look out for them – some are small, some are HUGE – but they are there – making your life so much better…
